Rev. Dr. Erica Daniels
Associate Minister
Rev. Dr. Erica Daniels is a native of King and Queen County, VA and 2002 graduate of King and Queen Central High School. She holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the College of William and Mary, a master’s degree in professional School Counseling from UNC-Pembroke, and a Master of Divinity from the Samuel Dewitt Proctor School of Theology at Virginia Union University. Rev. Daniels is graduate of Regent University where she earned her doctorate in Counselor Education and Supervision.
Rev. Daniels is a licensed professional school counselor (LPSC) and a nationally certified counselor (NCC). She has worked as a school counselor in various environments for over 15 years. She has served as the Director of School Counseling for Henrico High School in Henrico, Virginia and as the lead middle school counselor at Vernon Johns Middle School, Petersburg, VA. She is currently an Assistant Professor for Evangel University in their inaugural online graduate counseling program.

As leader in the field, Rev. Daniels was selected as the Michelle Dowdy Emerging Leader for the Virginia Counseling Association (VCA) and as an Emerging Leader for the Association for Counselor Education and Supervision (ACES) which is a national organization for counselor educators and supervisors. She currently serves on the Product Development Committee for ACES and is currently serving the co-leader for the ACES School Counseling Interest Network Supervision work group. She is also an active member of other professional organizations.
In addition to her professional pursuits, Rev. Daniels is a licensed and ordained preacher who serves as the Associate Minister and the Director of Christian Education at New Light Baptist Church. She has served in church ministry for over 12 years, including Zion Baptist Church in King and Queen County under the leadership of former pastor, Rev. Edgar T. Rawles, Jr (deceased). She is passionate about her calling and all aspects of ministry, particularly in the areas of education and mental health. She is firm in her belief that her professional career in counseling is also ministry as she is blessed with the opportunity to teach and counsel others displaying the gifts of the spirit and the love of Christ.
She is blessed to share this journey of life with her husband, Raymond Sr., bonus son, Raymond Jr., double bonus daughter, Imani, son, Isayah William and daughter, Olivia Ann; along with their two dogs Reecy and Kobie.
Reflecting on all that God has done in her life, she is encouraged by Psalm 40:1. “I waited patiently for the Lord, He inclined unto me and heard my cry”.
